festival feedback

Roskilde 2005
Following a request by Danish drugs outreach service Bagmaendene, Steven, Alex and Tara were joined by John in Denmark to carry out peer support at the Roskilde music festival. All were surprised at the size and scale of the event and especially the organisation of both the festival and the outreach. Everyone worked their butts off but also had a great time. John got hooked on Greenday! Alex lost lots of stuff, Steve got sunburned and Tara made a bestest friend.

“Almost everybody in the Danish part of the volunteer crew has mentioned how impressed they were with Crew 2000's work and how much they like the people on a personal level”. Christoffer Co-ordinator Bagmaendene

Wickerman Festival 2005

The word fantastic describes this year’s Wickerman the best. It did not rain, it wasn’t too windy and we saw an astonishing 730 people!

They came in their hundreds… for tea, coffee and water…when freezing cold, when too hot…when happy as Larry and when freaking out, for all sorts of reasons, but mainly because of overindulgence.

In thick and thin we were there and I would like to say thank you to Erin, Khris, Pete, Vicky, Keefe, Jana and Matt, as they were smiling even at 4 o’clock in the morning when I was looking like a right grumpy old mare.

I would like to end this by paying tribute to Matt who made this all possible, that man’s energy and organisation skills are as amazing as his toned body…

Hugs

Marketing
Great ‘ideas generating’ meeting last week with nice food from Embo’s. Thanks to everyone who took part and gave their ideas which will help to transform Crew. There was a lot of work but a lot of laughter too as Andrew (director) co-ordinated the meeting. I think we ended up visioning Crew as a Volkswagen i.e. Friendly, reliable, fun and functional… and developing ‘Strap lines’ had ‘Oor Tara’ spinning out of control, you really had to be there! Watch this space for developments on marketing.

eSUS update

Well eSUS is still here: the funding bid to keep us going for another two years was successful. So we can carry on providing Support and complementary therapies to people who want to look at the role drugs play in their lives.

On a personal note, I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who worked a bit harder to cover the work load whilst I was on extended leave. I was sorry to miss Wickerman this year but hear you all did Crew proud. Have a great time on Friday – Enjoy!!!!
Carla, eSUS Co-ordinator
