Noize is an education and skills project run by Crew 2000 that intends
to build up young people’s skills and confidence. Young people
undergo a voluntary training programme that will cover all the basic
skills needed to become proficient at DJing.
DJ skills taught by Khris
Beattie (DJ Workshop Co-ordinator) who has played professionally
for many years, knows the sector very well and has a ‘sound
track’ record in teaching young people.
Safer dance, equal opportunities and advanced aspects of working
in the field of club promotion will be taught by Crew 2000 staff
and industry professionals.
Young
people ( 14-25 ) who may be socially excluded in one form or another
will receive priority. However, Crew 2000 operates an open policy
and we will attempt to accommodate all young people who have a genuine
interest in Dj skills.
Cost:
currently we do not charge for this service but if records are required
for particular types of music, a contribution may be negotiated
with trainees. |
